to close it when leaving the house, simply close the door and press the red button on the keypad.

internet is fast enough for netflix streaming and to browse comfortably. fast enough for video calls.
pets
we are happy to host your furry loved ones if they are house trained, but we ask that you pick up after them outside, wipe their paws, and keep them off of the furniture. the area is very mindful about the wildlife. dogs should be kept on a leash at all times when outside. should any of the above rules not be followed we reserve the right to charge an additional $50 pet fee.
premium coffee
we provide a free sample of whole beans in the house from dispatch, you are also welcome to bring your favourite coffee beans over. all the equipment necessary to make a pour-over (including a state of the art grinder) or french press is available at the house.
sustainably sourced tea
intentionally sourced, impeccably crafted, @drinkdona teas are all perfectly balanced in flavour. we supply some teas for you to sip slowly during your stay.
COFFEE EQUIPMENT IS NOT DISHWASHER SAFE - PLEASE HAND WASH.
water
we suggest you bring your own water. the water at the cabin is potable, it comes from a well, but we rather keep it on the safe side here.
towels
in our efforts to be as sustainable as possible, we ask that you try to be mindful about how many towels you use during your stay.
fireplace
this is the most delicate piece in the house. feel free to use it, under some important conditions. this is a special fireplace, so your fire rules might not apply here, the fireplace will only take specific wood. use only fire starters provided, no newspapers, no carton. firewood can be found next to the house entrance (winter months). if you have any questions regarding this, please ask us. matches can be found in the cupboard of the kitchen island, facing the living room. do not use the range hood or the air exchanger when using the fireplace. these create variations in air pressure which will either kill your fire or get you a very smoky house. you don't want either. pro tip: if you want to cook while using the fireplace, crack open a window to let things circulate. * make sure the fire is completely out before leaving the house!

contemporary furniture meets visual artistry
stamatios fragos (sam), has always had a curiosity for objects and the way they fit into the built environment. as a child, when he would accompany his father in construction, he would mimic him by playing with wooden building blocks and assembling miniature models. a fascination with visual art followed, placing him at the intersection of art and design.
inspired by geometry and modularity, his work emanates classic design principles with a modern approach that challenge traditional functions and forms. working by hand makes it so that he is always in a state of experimentation and exploration with materials - pushing the boundaries of the future life of objects.
sam’s lamps are produced in very small batches in a small studio in montreal. his works are featured at hintercabin x and shadow lakehouse, and guests can purchase some of sam’s works in our online shop. we will take it from there and deliver it to your home.

hcx features a bang & olufsen A9 speaker. one of the most iconic and beautifully designed speakers in recent years. music just sounds different. to get you started:

open is a mindfulness studio. enter a place to come to your senses — meditation, music, breathwork, and movement awaken body and mind to bring you to the present moment.
hinter’s partnership with open gives our guests a 30 day access pass. we thought it would be a nice touch for you to either enjoy this in preparation for your stay, during or after. we hope you enjoy.
premium coffee
we all know how hard it is to get good coffee when we travel - that was a bit frustrating for us. we partnered up with @fellowproducts and @dispatchcoffee to make your coffee experience a creative practice, a sacred ritual. we include a sample of Dispatch’s whole bean coffee and all the equipment required to prepare the perfect pour-over.
